Sound of Kintyre - A Magical Place banner

Machrihanish on Kintyre's glorious west coast offers tranquility, inspiration and a way of life that many people believe has gone forever. At the Sound of Kintyre you will find a home in which to enjoy the special qualities that make this dramatic corner of Scotland so unique.

You can escape into tranquillity on any of the many beaches, like the three-mile stretch on Sound of Kintyre's doorstep at Machrihanish. Golf is another attraction with the renowned 18 holes of the links at Machrihanish. There is a brand new links course to be completed in 2008 close to the present one.

The area is also a paradise for walkers, wildlife, and surfing. There are miles of walking trails through forests, fields and dunes with an abundance of wildlife. The views alone are magnificent, over glittering firths to stunning islands such as Arran, Islay and Jura.

Campbeltown, a short drive away has the pleasures of shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels, a cinema, schools and supermarkets, along with every community activity you'd except of a buoyant harbour town. 'Aqualibrium' is to open in June 2006, which will house a swimming pool, fitness centre, yachtsman changing room, crèche and a café.

Twice-daily flights link to Glasgow Airport and the A83 provides a scenic three-hour alternative.

At Sound of Kintyre, you're away from it all, yet within reach of it all... believe in the magic.
